How to remove the header and footer on a Squarespace page

If you’ve just moved over to Squarespace 7.1 you’ll know the frustrations of no longer being able to create a cover page (a page with no header and footer). These pages were perfect for holding pages or coming soon and the loss was super annoying.

Thankfully re-creating this page is super simple by following these quick steps:

One genius step to remove the header and footer on a Squarespace page:

Log in to your Squarespace account and navigate to the page where you want to remove the header and footer.

  1. Click on the gear icon in the top-left corner of the page to open the Page Settings menu.

  2. Scroll down to the "Advanced" tab and click on it.

  3. In the "Page Header Code Injection" section, paste the following code:

<style> .Header { display: none !important; } .Footer { display: none !important; } </style>

  1. Click on the "Save" button to save the changes.

This code will hide the header and footer from the page.

If you want to restore the header and footer later, you can simply remove this code from the "Page Header Code Injection" section.

Keep in mind that removing the header and footer can affect the overall design and functionality of your website, so it's important to test your page after making these changes to ensure that everything works as expected.
